INFINITE SIZE RANGE – 0.028” TO 3”/ CUSTOM SIZES REDUCE YIELD LOSSES With PK's processing and die making capabilities, we can produce an infinite range of sizes from 0.028” to 3”.

PK produces a full range of English and Metric Sizes in: Steel Rounds, Squares, Hexagons, Octagons, and Flats/ Rectangles, as well as, Special Steel Shapes & Profiles.  Custom sized steel bars can reduce finished part machining yield losses.

WIDE VARIETY OF SURFACE FINISHES / CAN REDUCE PART FINISHING STEPS

When your application requires a specialized steel finish, PK can provide:  Cold Drawn, Cold Drawn & Polished, Centerless Ground, Centerless Ground & Polished or a combination of processes.

Surface Finishes can be provided, as fine as 20 Ra by utilizing our capabilities to: surface improved wire (Defect Free Wire), cold draw and centerless grind & polish.  These products help manufacturers save money by reducing part grinding passes.

CUSTOM ENGINEERED QUALITIES / PRODUCTS CRAFTED FOR SPECIFIC PART NEEDS

PK's Supplier Alliances provide PK with hot rolled steel bar and rod stock melted and refined by top rated mills to: Customer's Specifications and PK's Comprehensive Raw Material Spec. This helps to insure the best raw materials and qualities are used for your applications. 

PK routinely provides products to qualities such as, Bearing Quality, Aircraft Quality, Gun / Gun Barrel Quality, CHQ, Plating, Defect Free, NDT Tested, various Military and Automotive Quality Specifications.  PK is ISO 9001: 2000 Registered.

CUSTOM ENGINEERED PROCESSING / IMPROVES PART MANUFACTURING

With our flexible manufacturing structure, PK can combine steel processing technologies to tailor the characteristics to a customer's specific needs and applications.  

Process combinations could involve: Surface Improvement (shaved or turned) wire, Cold Rolling and / or Drawing, plus a wide variety of thermal treating options. 

DIMENSIONAL TOLERANCES TO 0.0005”/ REDUCE MACHINING YIELD LOSSES

Net and Near Net tolerances can reduce machining.  PK's extensive expertise and wide range of processing capabilities have helped PK to make products with tolerances consistently tighter than industry standards..

Dimensional tolerances on Net and Near Net Shaped products are routinely produced to one half of the Industry Standard Tolerance or even tighter if required, such as 0.0005”.   

WIDE VARIETY OF STEEL GRADES / IMPROVE MATERIAL SELECTION

Our Supplier Alliances provide a wide variety of steel qualities and steel grades through multiple steel sources.  With PK's expertise in cold drawing high alloy and tool steels, our products can be manufactured in standard, as well as, special steel shapes and profiles.

With our wide range of heat treating options and cold drawing capabilities, PK can manufacture products to a customer's specific mechanical and metallurgical property needs and requirements.

Some examples include: High Strength 100& 125 ksi. Minimum Yield Strength, Hard Drawn Wire to 170 ksi. Tensile Strength or products for Best Machinability” or for Maximum Formability. Custom properties are also available in special shapes and profiles.

CUSTOM ENGINEERED SPECIAL PROFILE SHAPES / REDUCE MACHINING LOSSES

PK has long been recognized as a top industry leader in the manufacture of cold drawn Special Steel Shapes / Steel Profile Bars. Some customers refer to these sections as Extrusions.
